Product Overview
What the ML-HDHVGAA does
The ML-HDHVGAA performs three core functions within an AV system. First, it converts HDMI video to VGA for compatibility with legacy displays and projectors. Second, it passes the HDMI signal through to a secondary HDMI display without any degradation. Third, it extracts embedded audio from the HDMI signal and routes it separately through stereo and optical outputs.
This makes the device particularly useful in environments where video and audio follow different signal paths. For example, video may be sent to a projector while audio is routed to an amplifier, DSP, or distributed speaker system. By separating the audio from the HDMI stream, the unit enables cleaner system architecture and avoids dependency on display-based audio output.
The device can also function as an HDMI de-embedder, extracting digital audio from HDMI sources for integration with external sound systems. In addition, it operates as a compact HDMI splitter in installations requiring one HDMI input to feed both HDMI and VGA display formats simultaneously.
Because the device functions independently of operating systems and requires no drivers or software, it integrates seamlessly into enterprise AV systems managed by integrators, consultants, and in-house IT teams.

Key Features
Key functions. One compact unit.
Converter, de-embedder, and splitter the ML-HDHVGAA replaces multiple devices and simplifies your AV infrastructure in mixed-format environments.
HDMI to VGA Conversion
Converts HDMI video signals into VGA output, allowing modern HDMI source devices to connect with legacy VGA projectors and monitors. Supports phased upgrades without requiring immediate display replacement.
- Connects HDMI sources to legacy VGA projectors and monitors
- Supports phased infrastructure upgrades
- No need to replace existing VGA displays
HDMI Pass-Through Output
The integrated HDMI output enables simultaneous connection to a secondary HDMI display. Ideal for dual-display setups in boardrooms, training halls, and digital signage environments with no signal degradation.
- Simultaneous HDMI and VGA outputs from one input
- No signal degradation on the HDMI pass-through
- Suitable for boardrooms, training halls, digital signage
Audio De-embedding Functionality
Embedded audio within the HDMI input is extracted and made available through stereo analog and optical (TOSLINK) outputs. This allows direct connection to amplifiers, mixers, AV receivers, and DSP systems for structured audio distribution.
- Stereo analog output for amplifiers and mixers
- TOSLINK optical output for AV receivers and DSP systems
- Avoids dependency on display-based audio output
Multi-Function Deployment Flexibility
The device operates as a converter, de-embedder, or splitter depending on system requirements. This reduces the need for multiple devices within a rack and simplifies overall AV infrastructure design for professional environments.
- Operates as converter, de-embedder, or splitter
- Compact form factor for rack shelves or desk installations
- No driver or software dependency
- Designed for continuous professional use
Plug in. Power on. Done.
No drivers, no software, no complex configuration. The ML-HDHVGAA auto-manages signal conversion and distribution as soon as it’s powered making it suitable for both integrators and in-house IT teams.
01
Connect Your Source
Plug your HDMI source device (laptop, media player, PC, or AV system) into the HDMI input port on the ML-HDHVGAA. The device accepts any standard HDMI signal up to Full HD 1080p.
02
Connect Your Displays
Connect your HDMI display to the HDMI output port for pass-through video. Connect your VGA projector or monitor to the VGA output. Both displays receive the video signal simultaneously.
03
Route Your Audio
Connect your amplifier, AV receiver, or DSP system to the stereo analog output or TOSLINK optical output. Audio is automatically extracted from the HDMI stream and routed independently.
04
Power On & Operate
Once powered, the device automatically handles all signal conversion and distribution with zero software configuration. It works independently of any operating system and integrates into any existing AV infrastructure.
Where the ML-HDHVGAA fits
Designed for mixed infrastructure environments where modern and legacy display formats coexist and where audio needs to follow a separate signal path from video.
Corporate Boardrooms
Distributes HDMI content to both flat panel displays and VGA projectors while routing audio to installed sound systems. Ideal for rooms undergoing phased AV upgrades without full display replacement.
Educational Institutions
Supports mixed-format classrooms where HDMI teaching devices must operate alongside legacy VGA projection systems and independent audio amplification for large halls and lecture rooms.
Digital Signage & Information Displays
Allows one HDMI source to feed multiple display formats simultaneously, while extracting audio for public address or announcement systems in retail, transit, and corporate environments.
Control Rooms & AV Integration Projects
Provides flexible signal management in environments requiring simultaneous display outputs and separated audio routing ideal for AV integrators building structured, multi-zone installations.

Frequently asked questions
What does the ML-HDHVGAA HDMI de-embedder do?
The ML-HDHVGAA takes one HDMI input and provides HDMI pass-through, VGA video output, and extracted audio through stereo and optical ports simultaneously. It allows video and audio to be routed independently in professional AV systems eliminating the need for separate converters and de-embedders.
Can this device send output to both HDMI and VGA displays at the same time?
Yes. The unit supports simultaneous HDMI and VGA outputs from a single HDMI input, making it suitable for environments where both modern HDMI displays and legacy VGA projectors or monitors are used together.
Does the ML-HDHVGAA extract audio from the HDMI signal?
Yes, it functions as an HDMI audio de-embedder by separating embedded audio from the HDMI stream and making it available through both stereo analog and optical (TOSLINK) outputs. This enables direct connection to amplifiers, AV receivers, and DSP systems without relying on display-based audio.
Is this converter suitable for corporate boardrooms?
Yes. The ML-HDHVGAA is specifically designed for environments like corporate boardrooms, educational institutions, control rooms, and digital signage installations where flexible signal distribution across mixed display formats is required alongside independent audio routing.
What resolution does the ML-HDHVGAA support?
The device supports resolutions up to Full HD 1080p (1920×1080), ensuring clear and sharp video quality for presentations, content display, and professional AV applications. It also supports 1080i, 720p, and other standard HDMI video formats.
Does the device require any drivers or software to operate?
No. The ML-HDHVGAA is a completely plug-and-play device with no driver or software dependency. It operates independently of any operating system and automatically handles all signal conversion and distribution once powered making it easy for both AV integrators and in-house IT teams to deploy.
