Product Overview

What makes the ML 401

The ML 401 Video Switcher features four composite video input ports and one composite video output port, enabling users to select and display video from different sources on a single screen. It eliminates the need to physically reconnect cables when switching between devices, simplifying AV management in professional setups.

Multiple control methods are supported, including a front panel keypad for direct channel selection, an IR remote for wireless operation, and an RS232 interface for integration into automated AV systems. Optional RS422/RS485 support extends compatibility with a wider range of system control architectures.

The built-in scan mode automatically cycles through all connected input channels at preset time intervals, making it suitable for continuous monitoring of multiple video feeds without requiring manual switching. LED indicators on the front panel display the currently active channel and power status at all times.

The device is housed in a durable metal enclosure designed for long-term reliability in professional AV environments. Its compact tabletop form factor allows installation on AV racks, control desks, or equipment setups. A 230V AC power supply is provided as standard.

Key Features

Built for reliable multi-source video management

Four composite inputs. One clean output. Multiple control methods for manual and automated video switching.

4x1 Composite Video Switching

The ML 401 accepts up to four composite video inputs and routes the selected source to a single output connected to a monitor or projector. Centralized control of multiple video signals removes the need for manual cable reconnection.

Flexible Control Options

The switcher supports three independent control methods, allowing it to be operated manually at the device or integrated into automated AV control systems. Optional RS422/RS485 support broadens system compatibility further.

Manual and Scan Operation Modes

Two operating modes are available. In manual mode, the desired channel is selected directly using the keypad or IR remote. In scan mode, the device cycles through all connected inputs automatically at configurable time intervals, with LED indicators showing current scan status.

Stable Signal Transmission and Durable Build

The device ensures stable composite video signal transmission with smooth switching and no distortion or delay. A metal enclosure provides long-term mechanical protection, and the compact tabletop design allows easy installation in AV racks or control desks.

Installation

Plug-and-play setup or integrated system control

The ML 401 is designed for straightforward installation and requires no complex configuration. It operates as a standalone unit or as part of a larger AV control system via RS232.

01

Standalone Plug-and-Play Setup

Connect up to four composite video sources to the input ports using standard RCA cables, then connect the output to a monitor or projector. Power the device using the 230V AC supply. No drivers or configuration are required. Use the front panel keypad or IR remote to begin switching between sources immediately.

02

AV System Integration via RS232

For integration into a larger AV control system, the ML 401 connects to a control processor or automation system via the RS232 interface. Optional RS422/RS485 support enables compatibility with additional control architectures. Once integrated, input selection and scan mode can be managed centrally alongside other AV devices.

Ideal Applications

Where the ML-104HDMI-4K is deployed

Designed for professional environments that require synchronized multi-display output from a single source.

Control Rooms

Switch between multiple video sources feeding a single display in monitoring and operations environments. Scan mode enables continuous cycling through all connected feeds without operator intervention.

CCTV and Surveillance

View multiple camera feeds on a single display without disconnecting cables. The scan mode automatically rotates between connected cameras, supporting effective surveillance monitoring with a single output device.

Conference and AV Presentations

Manage multiple video sources in conference rooms and presentation setups. Quickly switch between laptops, media players, or other AV devices connected to a single projector or display using the front panel or IR remote.

Broadcast and Media Environments

Route composite video signals from cameras, DVRs, or media players to a single output in broadcast preparation or media playback setups. RS232 integration supports use within automated production control workflows.

Commercial Installations

Deploy in retail outlets, lobbies, or hospitality environments where multiple video sources need to be displayed on a single screen in sequence or on demand. The compact metal enclosure suits rack or desk-mounted installations.

Training and Education Facilities

Switch between video sources such as presentation systems, video players, and cameras during training sessions. A single display can serve multiple input devices, reducing the need for additional screens or equipment.
